Heating Your Food at Home

Our food is prepared fresh daily to be delicious and resounding with flavour. Follow these easy instructions to enjoy our take home foods to their fullest.

Since every stove and microwave is slightly different, we have given a range of times to reheat our dishes. Try heating the minimum time suggested and then check every few minutes until food has reached desired heat. Be prepared to heat longer if you are warming more than one serving. Our practical Duo-Containers can be used in both your oven or in a micro-wave oven because they have a special coating over the aluminum structure which makes them micro-wave safe. The following suggested times are for single servings heated in these special containers

CHICKEN
Microwave on medium heat for 3-4 minutes or heat in a 350F oven covered with aluminum foil for 10-15 min.

FISH ENTREES
Microwave at a medium setting for 1-2 minutes or in the oven at 300f for 7-12 min.

BEEF ENTREES
Stews, curries and the like can be gently simmered on the stove top until hot, while stirring occasionally. Alternatively, place in a microwave oven for 2 min. Stir if the entrée is stew-like and zap again for another 2 min. Steaks do not reheat well in the microwave unless you prefer them well done. They should be reheated in the oven at 350f for 12-18 min.

VEGETABLE SIDE DISHES
Best done in the microwave for 1-2 min. Can also be reheated on the stove top in a frying pan or in the oven for 5-10 min.

STARCHES
Rice and grains are best reheated in the microwave for a couple of minutes or in an oven, in a covered container for 5-10 minutes. Roasted veggies and potatoes are best in an oven uncovered for 8-12 min.

PASTAS
Other than cannelloni, most farinaceous products reheat best in the microwave on a single serving setting. If putting in the oven, cover and reheat at 350f for 15-20 min.
